Here’s my review and analysis of Twin Peaks: The Return part 7! We learned a little more about Diane played by the incomparable Laura Dern, and her sordid, dark history with Evil Cooper. Hawk talks about the missing pages from Laura Palmer’s diary. We learn a couple things about the decapitated corpse of (possibly) General Garland Briggs. Then we have the unnerving blackmail scene between Evil Cooper and the Warden. So much to discuss…always so much.
Entertainment Weekly has released a never before seen set of photos from the very secretive set of Twin Peaks. This is our first look at many of the refunding favorites such as Hawk, Andy and Lucy, Shelly and Norma, Gordon Cole and Albert Rosenfield, Denise Bryson, and James Hurley. Let the speculation begin! Entertainment Weekly also released three new, exclusive covers featuring even more familiar faces.
The new season of Twin Peaks is set to premiere on Showtime May 21st 2017.
Original Twin Peaks Score To Be Re-Released On Vinyl

Here’s what Badalamenti had to say on the release:
“I’m glad that after 25 years, Death Waltz Recording Company has
re-released the original soundtrack for Twin Peaks for a new audience to
enjoy. This is my defining work as a composer and I’m happy it will get
a fresh listen”
– Angelo Badalamenti 2016
You can pre-order it now here, but according to mondtotees.com, you most likely won’t receive it until late October.

According to David Nevins, president of Showtime, the show is set to start production next month. David Lynch plans to shoot the reboot as “one long movie”. From there, logically cut episodes will be molded to make it a series. So the amount of episodes we’ll be getting won’t be determined until the entire series is filmed, and decisions are made on where to cut it. This is an efficient, and interesting way to shoot the series. Fairly reminiscent of the original run. Episodes that, more or less, pick up exactly where the last left off with very little time in between. Fun for those of us that enjoy consuming our television in large portions.
The show is still set to premiere in 2017, but Nevins has made it clear that he would be up for premiering the show as soon as it’s done. David Lynch will be directing it all in its entirety. Kyle MacLachlan is currently the only known person signed on for the show, but Nevins assures fans that, “the people that you want will be there in addition to some surprises.” Which, of course, means new faces. There’s very little known about what the plot of the reboot will actually be. We’ll get a prequel to the reboot in a book written by Twin Peaks co-creator, Mark Frost.

That gum you like will come back in style, but not quite when you think. Earlier today it was announced that David Lynch will film the upcomming 3rd season of Twin Peaks for Showtime on 35mm film and will push the release date into sometime in 2017. Mark Frost was quoted in an A.V. Club as saying “…
The challenge for us is to try and come back and raise the bar above what we did the last time. We’re coming back…after a 25-year absence. We’ve finished the scripts, we start production in September, and that will be coming out on Showtime sometime in 2017.”
What are your thoughts? Can you wait another calendar year for the return of Special Agent Dale Cooper, deep black coffee and cherry pie at the Double R?
I have high hopes but even temper for the coming season, whenever we get it, it will make quite an impact.
